Information AboutSinusoid (blood Vessel) |
|
Sinusoids are found in the Liver , the Bone Marrow , Lymphoid Tissue , and Endocrine organs. Their highly permeable nature, which is due to larger inter-cellular clefts, fewer tight junctions, and fenestrated epithelial cells, allows modified, broken down, or constructed proteins to enter and leave the blood stream. Some spaces are large enough for blood cells to pass. They are equipped with Kupffer Cells that can move and destroy any foreign material such as Bacteria entering the sinusoids. Sinusoidal capillaries (discontinuous capillaries) are Characteristic of Renal Glomerulus: In Addition, Sinusoidal Capillaries are characteristic of the renal glomerulus, but remember that they are also found in the liver and in hematopoietic organs such as the bone marrow and spleen so that whole cells can pass through these large holes.
