The newspaper was first published in 1999 by "20 Minuten Schweiz AG". The direct competitor '' Metropol '' was available in Switzerland 2000 to 2002. Since 2005, ''20 Minuten'' is owned by "Express-Zeitung AG", part of Tamedia group (majority) and '' Berner Zeitung '' (17.5%). Thus Swiss newspaper is no longer part of 20 Min Holding AG , owned by Schibsted . On 8 March 2006 , Tamedia launched the French-language edition '' 20 Minutes '' for the French-speaking Agglomeration s of Geneva and Lausanne . The newspaper is to compete with '' Le Matin Bleu '', Edipresse 's free edition of '' Le Matin ''. In France, the identically named ''20 minutes'' editions are published by Schibsted and Ouest-France . EXTERNAL LINKS
