No one knew the existence of Voya Nui except the Piraka and the Matoran. It is said that the island houses a great secret, a great "evil". The Piraka want it for themselves, an act punishable with death by the Dark Hunters. The Toa Nuva are equally matched with the Piraka. The Mask of Life is said to be on Voya Nui. Though the location has not been revealed yet, the secret of it may be hidden in an active volcano, Mount Valmai. LANDMARKS Villages and Dwellings Matoran Fortress - This is the last location on Voya Nui that is habitable by the Matoran . Piraka Stronghold - This is the Piraka 's headquarters, where they dwell and create their weapons, the zamor spheres. The Lost Land - This is the former site of a Matoran village, which broke off and fell into the sea centuries ago. Bodies of Water Voya Nui Bay - This is the area of water that Voya Nui surrounds (the island is a Crescent shape). The area is filled with dangerous waters and extremely strong currents. Lake of Protodermis - This lake is a shallow body of fresh liquid Protodermis . Lagoon Entry - This is the ''only'' safe passage into Voya Nui. Many believe that this is how the Piraka entered Voya Nui. Underground Landmarks Mount Valmai - This active volcano is said to hold the secret of the Mask Of Life .
