Virginia Trioli is an employee of the government-owned Australian Broadcasting Corporation . In August 2005, she was moved from the ABC Local Radio station in Melbourne, 774 ABC Melbourne , where she hosted a program called ''Drive'', to the 9am-midday shift on the ABC Local Radio station in Sydney, 702 ABC Sydney . During her Melbourne career she consistently outrated other stations including 3CR, 3KND and JOY-FM. She also works as a columnist for '' The Age ''.

Trioli attended La Trobe University and received a Bachelor of Arts there. After graduating she was accepted to the University Of Melbourne for an Honours year some years later.

Virginia Trioli has written and spoken on Feminism , Sexual Harassment by men against women in workplaces, Prostitution and exploitation of women by men.

Virginia Trioli has twice been awarded a Walkley Award , the second time being in 2002 for Radio Current Affairs Reporting for an interview with Peter Reith , then Australian Minister for Defence and a member of the Liberal Party . She had previously been awarded a Walkley in 1995 for Best Business Report, for a piece she wrote for ''The Age''.

In 2004 , Virginia Trioli married Russell Skelton, a colleague at ''The Age.''

Virginia Trioli's step children are activists within the Australian Labor Party . Trioli is believed to be interested in a political career herself.
