]] In 1983 (see 1983 In Music ), Mötley Crüe released '' Shout At The Devil '', a blockbuster success that established the band as one of the biggest acts of the 1980s . After a tour with Ozzy Osbourne , Neil was in a Drunk Driving accident near Redondo Beach, California . One of the passengers, Razzle (Nicholas Dingley), the drummer of Hanoi Rocks , died. After completing Rehabilitation , Neil and Mötley Crüe released '' Dr. Feelgood '' in 1989. He left Motley Crue to pursue a solo career in February 1992. According to some rumors, he was fired because he was more interested in car racing than the band. In 1995 , his daughter, Skylar Neil, died of Cancer , marking one of the most painful parts of his life. With Steve Stevens , (formerly with Billy Idol ), Dave Marshall, Robbie Crane , and Vik Foxx, Neil began a solo career which quickly petered out, and he was asked to rejoin the flailing Mötley Crüe in 1997 . Despite the departure of Tommy Lee , Mötley Crüe released '' New Tattoo '' in 2000 . In 2004 , Vince Neil was featured in the Rock Never Stops Tour with other 80s rock bands.
