BIOGRAPHY Viktor was a in exchange for Viktor's military genius in dealing against the Lycan s, spawns of Marcus' own twin brother, William . When Marcus converted Viktor, the general became a Vampire Elder. It was believed that the Death Dealer s, vampire warriors skilled in hunting down lycans, were formed from Viktor's own army. Viktor is dedicated to the preservation of the immortal bloodline. Even though his influence in the vampire covens is far greater than Marcus', he never attempted to kill any of the Corvinus brothers, acting on the belief that should a Corvinus be harmed, the immortal strain would die out. In 1202 , Viktor led a campaign against William. He promised Marcus he would not harm William, but he had no intention of keeping his word. His Death Dealers injured William gravely, and Viktor was determined to keep William away from Marcus as far as possible. Viktor locked William away in his fortress. This led to Viktor earning Marcus' hatred. Viktor kept two halves of the key to William's dungeon; one beneath his flesh, and the other around his daughter Sonja's neck (to taunt Marcus). Viktor ignited a war when he, fearing a blending of the species, condemned Sonja and her lycan lover, Lucian to death. Sonja was burnt alive by sunlight, and Lucian escaped, going on to create his own lycan army. Viktor, determined to keep the location and map of the dungeon a secret from Marcus ''and'' Lucian, slaughtered the family of the man he had commissioned to design it. He spared the man's daughter, Selene , however, as she bore an uncanny resemblance to Sonja. He converted her into a vampire soon afterwards. Viktor gathered more power for himself, making himself leader of the Old World Coven Ordoghaz and going as far as to alter history itself. Viktor, not Marcus, was seen as the original vampire. In time, he exiled the Official Historian Andreas Tanis , who knew that Marcus was the first Vampire. Viktor was hibernating, not to be awakened for another 100 years. However, Selene was determined to awake Viktor because she believed only he would have the power to deal with the apparent conspiracy between Ordoghaz 's regent, Kraven , and Lucian. Once Viktor uncovered the truth of Lucian's plans to proceed with creating a hybrid, he launched a full-scale assault on the lycan lair. His duplicity in the death of Selene's family was revealed to Selene, and as he combated the hybrid Michael Corvin , Selene felled him with a stroke of his sword.
