Human colonists on Ganymede send three extremely powerful robots, ZZ One, ZZ Two and ZZ Three, to land on the surface of Jupiter and contact the Jovians. They do so and discover that the Jovians have a vastly superior population to that of Earth; also advanced scientific developments. They also have highly inflated egos and threaten to leave the surface of Jupiter, using force-field technology which is under development, and destroy the humans. But when they discover that they can't cow the robots into submission and that the robots don't even require force-fields to travel through space, their superiority crumbles and to save face, they swear eternal peace with the humans. Not having been told otherwise, the Jovians believe the robots to actually be Humans. |
