It is owned by the governments of 12 Pacific Island countries - the Cook Islands , Fiji , Kiribati , Marshall Islands , Nauru , Niue , Samoa , Solomon Islands , Tokelau , Tonga , Tuvalu and Vanuatu . The university runs campuses in all 12 countries, as well as a Law school in Vanuatu and an Agricultural school in Samoa . The largest and oldest campus, at Laucala Bay , in Suva , Fiji , was established in 1968 on the site of a former Airforce base. On 18 November 2005 , plans were announced to build a $6 million campus in the Marshall Islands - the USP's first campus in the northern Pacific. USP offers Undergraduate and Postgraduate study programmes that lead to a wide variety of careers, including Teaching , Tourism , Journalism , agriculture, science and environmental management, technology, computing and information systems, banking and finance, public administration and management, counselling and social services and others. FINANCING On 13 December 2005 , USP Vice-Chancellor Anthony Tarr and Australia n diplomat Stephanie Copus-Campbell signed a Memorandum Of Understanding , under which Australia agreed to provide the USP with a total of A$9.9 Million over the following three years. This is in addition to the A$2.5 Million that Australia contributes annually for scholarships.
