1985 , the ('''UMBI''') is part of the
University System Of Maryland . It was created to provide a unified focus for
Maryland 's
Biotechnology research and education. It is comprised of five centers:
- Center for Advanced Research in Biotechnology
- Center for Biosystems Research
- Center of Marine Biotechnology
- Institute of Human Virology
- Medical Biotechnology Center
UMBI is currently located in the Columbus Center in the
Inner Harbor ,
Baltimore, Maryland .
