Chairman of TBKP was Nihat Sargın and Nabi Yağcı was the general secretary. TBKP wanted to register as a legal political party, but registration was denied and the party was banned. On July 16 1991 the Constitutional Court banned the party, and Sargin and Yagci were banned from holding office in any other party. The case was taken up by the European Court Of Human Rights . After the dissolution of TBKP the cadre of the party regrouped into the Socialist Unity Party (SBP). Socialist Unity Party turned into United Socialist Party with the participation of several leftist groups. And finally this party turned into with the participation of former Revolutionary Path (Devrimci Yol) to Freedom And Solidarity Party . EXTERNAL LINK |
