The Tweed Heads Seagulls were formed in 1909 and are one of the oldest Rugby League clubs in Australia .

They originally played in the Gold Coast - Group 18 Competition in the New South Wales Rugby League , but joined the Queensland Wizard Cup in 2003 when Logan left the competition.

The Seagulls Leagues Club once owned the short-lived Gold Coast Seagulls Rugby League team, and they played out of Seagulls Stadium on Gollan Drive in West Tweed Heads. However financial problems saw the club sell Seagulls Stadium, and it is now housing. The Seagulls currently play out of the Piggabeen Sports Complex.
