The Transwa Australind is a passenger train that runs between Perth , Western Australia , and the south-west town of Bunbury . The Australind service consists of three powered railcars ADP101, ADP102 and ADP103, with two non-driving trailers ADQ121 and ADQ122. History The Australind service began in 1947 and was hauled by a Steam Locomotive . In the mid 1960s, Diesel-electric Locomotive power took over the route. The current self-powered diesel Railcars were introduced in 1987 . In July 2003 the railcars were painted in a new livery in line with the creation of the Transwa name. livery at suburban Claisebrook Station .
