In 2001, after a series of Anthrax attacks were sent to several Democratic Senators' offices in the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. , the TVC was named as a suspect by the FBI , as reported on National Public Radio . The organization was founded by Rev. Louis P. Sheldon who is currently the chairman. Mrs. Andrea Sheldon Lafferty is the executive director. VIEWS ON HOMOSEXUALITY The TVC is opposed to homosexuality. Some of their most notable views on homosexuality:
The TVC also opposes Hate Crime legistation, fearing that it will force Christians to either stop criticizing homosexuals or else be arrested. The TVC's lobbying efforts against homosexuality are vigourous. A video on the group's website—''Gay Rights, Special Rights''—is available. Headlines in materials from the organization are often sensationalized and often portray homosexuals in a negative light. For instance, one headline from the group's site called homosexuals "brownshirts". While the TVC claims their website attacks pro-gay 'urban myths', there is considerable evidence that they are simply recycling the work of Paul Cameron , Judith Reisman and other anti-gay activists, whose research is held in very low esteem by most psychologists. One partly-completed site attempting to dissect some of the TVC's claims is contactable on the following link {Link without Title} . COALITION MEMBERS EXTERNAL LINKS |
