The school Motto is "FIDELIS IN OMNIBUS", meaning "faithful in all things". It is a member of the exclusive GPS ( Queensland Great Public Schools ) and participates in many of the activities associated with the organisation. Total annual enrollment is approximately 900, of which 300 are Boarding students. At the time the school was founded, Queensland was a Christian colony. There was formal tolerance of Catholicism , and, to a lesser extent of new Christian movements (such as Methodists ), however Queensland was fundamentally Anglican . The school extends nominal formal tolerance to non-Christian and atheist/agnostic students, however Hymns and Christian Prayer form an integral part of the activities of the school, such as at assemblies.
