Information AboutTony Hawk Pro Skater |
''Tony Hawk's Pro Skater'' ( 1999 ) is a Skateboarding Video Game for PlayStation , Dreamcast , Nintendo 64 , Game Boy Color , and N-Gage featuring professional Skater Tony Hawk in the first in a series of such games. The games are developed by Neversoft and published by Activision . It was originally known on the PlayStation and Dreamcast as ''Tony Hawk's Skateboarding''. Due to the success of ''Tony Hawk's Pro Skater'', Activision released '' Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 '' ( 2000 , for PlayStation , Dreamcast , Nintendo 64 , Xbox , PC , Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance ), '' Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 '' ( 2001 , for PlayStation, PlayStation 2 , GameCube , Xbox , Nintendo 64 , PC , Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Color ), and '' Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 '' ( 2002 , for PlayStation, PlayStation 2, GameCube, Game Boy Advance, PC, and Xbox). The game received all-round acclaim from the video gaming media on all formats, with the exception of the Game Boy Color version, which bore little resemblance to the main 3D versions and was widely criticised. The fifth game in the series, '' Tony Hawk's Underground '' (''THUG''), was released in 2003 for PS2, GameCube, Xbox and Game Boy Advance. This game differs not only in name from the previous titles but also focuses on the idea of story mode, where the player progresses their character from a local skater to a sponsored pro skater. '' Tony Hawk's Underground 2 '' was released in October 2004 , and it is quite similar to its prequel and features many old faces, including Eric Sparrow (your previous "friend" from ''THUG''). The newest Tony Hawk title, '' Tony Hawk's American Wasteland '', is now available on Xbox 360 , PS2, Xbox and GameCube. It spans all of Los Angeles, having no other levels, and is said to be bigger than all the previous games. The Nintendo DS saw the release of Tony Hawk's American Sk8land , a version of Tony Hawk's American Wasteland with cell-shaded graphics and wireless connectivity, on November 14th. The ''Tony Hawk'' video games are partially responsible for the recent resurgence of the popularity of skateboarding. SKATERS
