Todman was bred by Stanley Wootton at Baramul Stud in Widden Valley, Australia. By champion Australian sire Star Kingdom from the Colombo mare Oceana, Todman was himself became a successfull sire. He left Golden Slipper winners Eskimo Prince (1964) & Sweet Embrace (1967), Blue Diamond winners Blazing Saddles (1977) and New Gleam (1973) as well as other quality stakes winning rachorses such as Ricochet, Imposing and Crewman.
