Timperley is notable for being the home of bizarre fictional comedian Frank Sidebottom , as well as the childhood home of The Stone Roses founders Ian Brown and John Squire. It is also known giving it name to a variety of Rhubarb – 'Timperley Early' a.k.a. Baguley Beef. The name Timperley comes from Timber Lea, which means "clearing in a wood". |
