Timeworks Publisher




''Publisher'' is notable as the first ''affordable'' DTP program. In appearance and operation, the software was a Ventura Publisher clone. However it was possible to run it on a computer without a hard disk. It originally operated using GEM Desktop on both the IBM PC and the Atari ST Later versions ran on Microsoft Windows . Later version of the GEM software contained on-the-fly-font scaling based on URW's BS format. Timeworks Inc also produced Publish It, although for the 8-bit Apple II platform and finally the Macintosh .

Deskpress was a version aimed at the business market, whilst Press International was a late CD based multilingual windows version.
