Tim was an assistant director on the film ''''. He later wrote, executive-produced, and directed episodes of '' Strange World '', '' Angel '', '' Firefly '', '' Wonderfalls '', and '' The Inside '' (which he also created, with Howard Gordon ).

Tim has recently had another series picked up by FOX, currently called "Drive". He is also likely to be writer and director of the Spike Movie if the project is given a greenlight.

Minear's work is typically characterised by a sharp, black humour and an ability to portray characters who are sympathetic, understandable and completely "wrong"; the best example of this is ''Angel'' season two, where Minear wrote all of the key episodes in the 'beige Angel' arc.
