''This Week'' is one of the U.S. Sunday Morning Political Talk Shows It has aired on Sunday Mornings on the ABC since 1981 and has been hosted by George Stephanopoulos since September 2002 . From 1981 to 1996 , it was hosted by David Brinkley and known as ''This Week with David Brinkley''. After Brinkley retired, Sam Donaldson and Cokie Roberts hosted, with the according program name change. Ever since Stephanopoulos took over, the program has been known as '''''This Week with George Stephanopoulos'''''. One of the key features of ''This Week'' is the Roundtable, which includes pundits such as George Will and Fareed Zakaria , ABC News correspondents such as Sam Donaldson and Cokie Roberts , and others discussing the major issues of the week.
