Information About

The Wb 100+ Station Group

In September 2006 , The WB will be merging with UPN to become The CW Television Network . The fate of these channels after this merger is unknown, though it is likely that Over-the-air UPN or Independent stations will be chosen for the network over these cable stations in markets where those stations exist. The CW will be starting a service called The CW Plus , a primarily cable-distributed service with both network and syndicated programming similar to The WB 100+, for markets where no strong broadcast station is available, and possibly as a fallback for markets where broadcast stations are unable to come to terms with the network. There appears to be no guarantee that existing WB 100+ affiliates will automatically join CW Plus. {Link without Title}

The CW has affiliated with several of the stations shown below, which have been noted, although the CW seems to prefer affiliating with digital subchannels of "Big Three" affiliates over existing WB 100+ stations. (It is not known whether these subchannels will carry the CW Plus feed, but it's likely.)

LIST OF STATIONS

This is a list of WB 100+ stations, ranked by DMA . Note that most " Call Letters " below are informal, as these stations do not broadcast over the air and so are not licensed by the FCC . There are a few exceptions—actual FCC-licensed broadcast stations are indicated in bold. Some of the "fake" calls used by the cable WB affiliates may be the same as calls used by actual over-the-air stations, and may create confusion for some; such stations are identified in this list.
