This episode shows a lot of the post- Goa'uld galaxy - Jaffa have become politicians and buisenessmen, some still belive in the Goa'uld as gods, and the criminals, pirates, and marauders of the galaxy are becoming more powerful with no one to rein them in; the most powerful have apparently organized themselves as the Lucian Alliance .
The weapon Vala ( Claudia Black ) points at the salesman she sold the necklace to (around 13 minutes into the episode), is almost identical to the one she and Ben Browder used in Farscape, but not quite the same design. Almost certainly a deliberate in-joke to that series.
The mark on the forehead of the Jaffa salesman Inago appears to be the same as the ones on the heads of the Jaffa trying to capture the Re'ol in "The Fifth Man"
First debut of the "Atlantis"-style wormhole effect on the actual series rather than in just the opening credits.
