''The Record'', also called '''''The Bergen Record''''', is the second largest daily Newspaper in the US state of New Jersey . It is published by North Jersey Media Group , which is owned and operated by the Borg family. The paper is edited by Frank Scandale; Vivian Waixel is executive editor and vice president for the Daily Division, which also encompasses the West Paterson -based Herald News . In the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 Attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City , a photographer for The Record, Thomas Franklin , took a photograph of three fire fighters raising an American Flag over the rubble of the what had been the World Trade Center. This became an internationally famed photo that many had compared to Joe Rosenthal 's famous photo of Raising The Flag On Iwo Jima . EXTERNAL LINKS |
