The series concerned the efforts of a group of brothers and sisters, whose parents had died, to survive as a family in the early days of the West. The eldest brother and sister were played by Michael Anderson, Jr. and Barbara Hershey . Another short-lived series with the same title aired in fall 1995 on ABC . The plot centered on a political family modeled on the Kennedy family, and starred Susan Sullivan , William Devane , among others. As of May 2005 the series reran on the Soapnet cable channel. ''The Monroes'' is also the name of a Norwegian rock music band. Their must known hit was "Sunday People". |
