Information About

The Junior Woodchucks

The nephews always carry with them a copy of the '' Junior Woodchucks Guidebook '', a Fictional Guidebook which is full of detailed and pertinent information about whatever country or situation in which Donald and the boys find themselves. Its depth of coverage is remarkable, considering that it is a small paperback book.

That guide was the inspiration for the Collection "Junior Woodchucks Guidebook", a series of several Disney books with tips, advice, general culture and curious facts about nature and life in general, released in Spain in the 80's decade, under the name "Guia de los Jóvenes Castores".

The slogan (according to the DuckTales movie) is "Woodchuck chuck!" (Genie: "Ditto!")

Don Rosa wrote and drew a story in which he showed how the Guidebook evolved from the Library Of Alexandria .

Jeff Foxworthy , in an episode of his TV show, claimed to have been in the Junior Woodchucks in his childhood. This is perhaps the only fictional reference to the organization outside of the Disney Universe.

Within Disney, a Junior Woodchucks-like organization called the Junior Chipmunks was mentioned in The Emperor's New Groove by Kronk, who recalls in the film that he was a Junior Chipmunk in his youth and later is shown as a leader when we see a troop of Chipmunks at the end of the movie.
