It's widely accepted now that the band is a gimmick, for several reasons. One being that the label behind TCME's releases is Razorback Records, which is known for such creative band origins/gimmicks, as well as the fact that the domain name for the band was registered by a former member of Exhumed , and not under the name of the "band members".
