REACTION The game was lauded upon its release for its impressive visuals, creative use of the analogue Dual Shock 2 controller buttons, fighting techniques grounded in reality, and well-integrated plot. An interesting aspect of the game is an exaggerated physics that shows forth in ways such as fighters being launched several feet into the air and landing on others, dealing great damage. The game's greatest strength is its exceptional multiplayer function that accompanies four players that fight all at once. However, this mode is best experienced only when all characters have reached the "S Class," which is the highest rank of fighting that each character can reach. The survival mode is extremely hard and usually can only be finished with certain characters, depending on the player's skill. There is a reward for defeating all 50 foes, but it will not be mentioned so as to be kept secret. Despite the game's success in these areas, the camera was strongly criticized, as was the short duration of story mode and focus on Cutscene s. The game wasn't very successful in either critical or financial ways, but was a unique Squaresoft production nonetheless that is still able to impress. EXTERNAL LINKS
