It tells the tale of a family from Canada , the Volniks, who inherit a Castle in Scotland . They soon discover that together with the castle they also seem to have inherited a mischievous spirit, "The Boggart". PLOT Emily and Jessup Volnik have led a fairly normal life. Then, they found out their father has inherited Castle Keep! Heading from their home in Canada to Scotland, they decide not to keep owning it, and Emily and Jessup each get one piece of furniture. Emily picks a rolltop desk, which the Boggart, a mischief, joke-playing creature, is shipped to Canada in. There, he discovers a whole new world. But soon he becomes homesick, and the only way home will be very, very, risky. CHARACTERS Emily Volnik is about your average 12-year old kid. She thinks Jessup is a pest, and she has blonde hair and blue eyes, unlike Jessup. She is believed to be the cause of the jokes, of which one caused her to break a leg, crack a rib, and get some good bruises. She is the first to find out about the Boggart. She was a vampire for Halloween . Jessup Volnik is said to have the IQ of a genius at only 10 years old, and he does spend a lot of time on the computer, working hard with 'The Gang of Five'. He was Ice Death for Halloween, based on his computer game, Black Hole. Jessup also plays Ice Hockey and is very busy most of the time. He has brown hair and brown eyes. Tommy Cameron lives with his mom and dad above their shop in Scotland. He knew the MacDevon and was very sad at his death. He has curly black hair and blue eyes. He also knew about the Boggart, and he sent Emily and Jessup a few postcards after they left Scotland and Castle Keep. |
