PURPOSE The purpose of TeenPact is to promote Citizenship and Leadership among young people (specifically highschoolers.) TeenPact's goal is to instill students with the skills and passion necessary to impact the nation for Jesus Christ . SUBJECT AUDIENCE While primarily geared towards home schooled students,TeenPact claims to have broadened their horizions and vision in the past 10 years and now has teenagers from many walks of life as well as college students involved. What started with a few students in the capitol building in Atlanta has now spread across the US, and as far as Hawaii . ACTIVITIES During TeenPact, students meet and interact with other Christian young people and leaders from across their state. Political education The first step in the TeenPact Leadership School is the State Capitol Four-Day Class for ages 13-18. Here students are taught about the Political process and the basics of state Government . Even if the student has no prior interest in government, (s)he is told of his/her responsibility as a citizen of his state and nation. Students analyze public policy from a Biblical {Link without Title} . Leadership education At TeenPact State Capitol Classes, students practice leadership through hands-on experience. Worship There is daily praise and worship in the state capitol, as well as prayer for those in authority. RESULTS Successful completion of the four day class is worth 1/3 of a high school credit in Civics . |
