Bridges suffered a bleeding Aneurysm in his Brain that caused a massive Stroke . Originally his prognosis was that he would live, but need over a year of extensive therapy, leading to the conclusion by all that he should resign (something he vowed not to do until Allen did). However, massive bleeding into his brain led to his hasty death. As a result, his Vice President , Mackenzie Allen, became president despite his final wish for her to step down to allow Nathan Templeton to take the oath instead. Bridges left behind his wife, Grace, and his young son Tommy. He was buried with full military honors.
