Suzie Wylie has a reputation for being an active member of the NEC, visiting many university campusses in her recent year as NEC member on the Block of 12. She has also featured as one of the main speakers on the RESPECT : The Unity Coalition student speaking tours, sharing a platform with leftist politician George Galloway MP. At NUS conference 2006, attempts were made to censure Suzie Wylie following allegations of lying to conference, after she claimed that some students thought they were obliged to purchase an NUS Xtra card a new scheme aimed at boosting revenue for the NUS. The attempt failed after confernce voted down the censure move. |
