HISTORY

Suncor was founded in 1917 in Montreal as Sun Company of Canada. Formerly connected with Sunoco (split in 1995 ), it markets its products under the Sunoco name but with a redesigned logo. It maintains a joint venture, Sun Petrochemicals Company, with Sunoco . From 1981 to 1993 , the Government of Ontario had a 25% stake in Suncor.

Suncor Energy Inc., an integrated energy company, based in Calgary, Alberta . Retail arm Suncor Energy Products Incorporated is headquartered in Toronto, Ontario .
