Educated at the School of S. Mary and S. Anne (now known as Abbots Bromley School For Girls ), and a graduate of the Royal Academy Of Dramatic Art , she first became known as Marilyn Gates on the soap '' Crossroads '', a role she played from 1964 to 1968 . A song she first sang on the programme, '' Where Will You Be? '', charted on July 3 , 1968 , eventually reaching #17. She was also popular in the role of the secretary, Joan Greengross, in the Sitcom '' The Fall And Rise Of Reginald Perrin '' and its sequel '' The Legacy Of Reginald Perrin '' ( 1996 ), as well as gaining popularity amongst legions of younger TV viewers for her roles as Nadia Popov in the popular '' Rentaghost '' and Mrs Muddle in '' Pipkins '' TV series. However, it is the role of Audrey that has been her most enduring. She has been on the programme since April 1979 . Her husband, Mark Eden , acted alongside her on ''Corrie'' (he played Alan Bradley). EXTERNAL LINKS |
