Hosted by Guo Liang and Patty Hou from Taiwan , the three-hour show saw four artists winning two awards each, namely Bryan Wong (Best Comedy Performer, Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes), Chen Hanwei (Best Actor, Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes) , Huang Biren (Best Actress, Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes) and Quan Yifeng (Best Variety Show Host, Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes), which Bryan Wong and Quan Yifeng were from Channel U, Chen Hanwei and Huang Biren from Channel 8. While it was the first award for Quan Yifeng, Kym Ng failed to win any award despite being one of the hot favourites to win the Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes award. Fann Wong and Xie Shaoguang won the All-Time Favourites Award in a special category honouring artistes who have won in the popularity awards for ten consecutive years. Xie Shaoguang was in Malaysia during the awards ceremony, so he was not there to receive the award personally. The award was won by Zoe Tay , Li Nanxing and Chew Chor Meng in year 2004. NOMINEES AND WINNERS Winners are highlighted in bold. Best Actor 最佳男主角
Chen Hanwei was all along the hot favourite to win the award. There were not many surprises when he won the award after not getting a single award after 3 years. The 'dark horse' was Adrian Pang, as this was his first chinese drama he acted in. Best Actress 最佳女主角
Jacelyn Tay was the hot favourite to win the award. But veteran actress Huang Biren nabbed the award instead, though there were not much critics about her, because she was all along a good actress and worked very hard for the award as well. This was her third win for the award. After almost 11 years in the television industry, Jacelyn failed to win a single Best Actress award. Many Singaporeans thought that Cynthia Koh's role in Potrait of Home was a supporting role, but nevertheless, she had her own supporters. Fann had to potray 2 roles in Beautiful Illusions, but the role was not memorable enough. Yvonne was considered the 'dark horse' as this was the first time nominated Best Actress and she has been acting in supporting roles for so many years. This was a big switch of the nomination category for Yvonne. Best Supporting Actor 最佳男配角
There were not much surprises for this award, because Portrait of Home was a long-running drama, with 100 episodes, so many Singaporeans got to watch more of Cavin Soh on their television screens. Yao Wenlong and Alan Tern did not have much supporters because the drama they acted in was way too long ago, and the role was not memeorable enough. Best Supporting Actress 最佳女配角
Both Yvonne Lim and Jesseca Liu were the favourites to win the award because both acted in the same show. While Yvoone's role was challenging and memorable (she acted as a very evil woman who later went crazy), Jesseca's role was the opposite. Jesseca had supporters because she was still young and had a fresh-faced look. Carole Lin, Hong Huifang and Vivian Lai- They roles were not memorable enough. Carole Lin only appeared in 4 out of the total 20 episodes of the drama she was nominated for. Vivian Lai's and Hong Huifang's drama they were nominated for was telecast in 2004, and many Singaporeans had forgot what they acted as. Best Variety Show Host 最佳综艺主持人
