Spanish Third Division

HISTORY

It is a tournament that is celebrated every year.

Currently there are 360 teams in Third division.

COMPETITION SYSTEM

It is divided into 18 groups. Each Group is administered by the relevant regional football federation.

Group 1: Galicia

Group 2: Asturias

Group 3: Cantabria

Group 4: Basque Community

Group 5: Catalonia

Group 6: Land Of Valencia

Group 7: Madrid

Group 8: Castile And Leon

Group 9: Eastern Andalusia

Group 10: Western Andalusia

Group 11: Balearic Islands

Group 12: Canary Islands

Group 13: Murcia

Group 14: Extremadura

Group 15-N: Navarre

Group 15-LR: La Rioja

Group 16: Aragon

Group 17: Castile La Mancha

Promotion

The first four teams in each group take part in a promotion play-off.

In this play-off the system is as follows:

---The team finishing first versus the team finishing fourth.

---The team finishing second versus the team finishing third.

---There are two seperate rounds on a home and away basis with the overall play-off winned progressing to Division 2B.

Relegation

The three teams finishing bottom of each group (with some exceptions depending on the groups) are relegated to regional divisions.
