Southend Central is a railway station in Southend-on-Sea . Train services are provided by C2c . It was opened in 1856 by the London Tilbury & Southend Railway and was the original eastern terminus of the line which was later extended to Shoeburyness . Off-peak service consists of two semi fast and two stopping services every hour in each direction between Fenchurch Street Railway Station in London and Shoeburyness via Basildon . A further two stopping services start at Southend Central for Fenchurch Street Railway Station taking the longer route via Tilbury and Chafford Hundred for Lakeside Shopping Centre .
