The South Melbourne Football Club is the former name of the Victorian Football League (now known as the Australian Football League ) team now known as the Sydney Swans .

The club joined the VFL in 1897 and played its home games at the Lake Oval in Albert Park, Victoria prior to its relocation to Sydney in 1982.
