Soulpepper Theatre Company




It was founded in 1998 by twelve Toronto artists and has since then become an important part of Toronto's theatre scene. Its plays have seen rave reviews for its Canadian interpretations of works by such noted Playwright s as Harold Pinter , Thornton Wilder , Samuel Beckett , and Anton Chekhov . The current artistic director is Albert Schultz .

In 2005, the Soulpepper Theatre Company moved into its permanent building, the Young Centre For The Performing Arts . The joint project with the George Brown College theatre school was designed by local firm KPMB and is located in Toronto's Distillery District .
