is a character in the fictional
Stargate universe played by
Alexis Cruz in both the original ''
Stargate '' film and ''
Stargate SG-1 '', who was the son of
Kasuf and brother to
Sha're .
Like the rest of the people of
Abydos , he is enslaved by
Ra but is changed when he meets Colonel
Jack O'Neill and his exploration team from
Earth . They show the people on
Abydos , that Ra is not a god and his belief in this strengthens when Ra attacks their home with
Death Glider s and his sister Sha're shows him what
Daniel Jackson has shown her. He develops a special interrest in Col. O'Neill and starts to imitate him. His lighthearted, boyish imitations reminds O'Neill of his late son, who has accidently killed himself with Jack's gun. When Ra summons the people of Skaara's tribe to show them the execution of the people from Earth, he helps them flee by using their weapons. Together with some of his friends he helps O'Neill and his soldiers sneak into the pyramid on the planet to fight against the soldiers of Ra. However when Ra uses his Death gliders, he and the others have to surrender. Fortunately, his father
Kasuf and a popular rebellion saves him and his companions from execution.
Skaara lived peacefully on Abydos for another year, but when O'Neill returns, he is soon kidnapped by the Goa'uld
Apophis and taken to
Chulak . There he is chosen to become host to a
Goa'uld symbiote; Apophis' son , and turns on O'Niell. ("

When Apophis decides to attack Earth, Klorel commands one of the two
Ha'tak s which are used in this attack. During this time he again meets Jack but when Klorel refuses to let Skaara out, he is shot with a
Zat and for a short time Skaara has control. However Jack and
Teal'c are soon captured and brought before Apophis, who orders their execution. When the two are rescued by their comrades, O'Neill is forced to shoot Klorel to prevent him from killing Dr. Jackson, but
Bra'tac (who is serving as his First Prime) saves him by placing him into a
Sarcophagus . After his resurrection he is again held by SG-1 and Bra'tac who transport to Apophis' ship, where Apophis and his son flee before their ships are destroyed. ("

The Serpent's Lair ")
About two years later, his ship crashes on the
Tollan homeworld while fleeing from
Heru-ur 's forces. With Klorel injured, Skaara regains control and pleades the Tollan for help to remove the Symbiote. The Tollan call a three-sided trial, a Triad, to decide who should control Skaara's body. Klorel is represented by
Zipacna , while Skaara is defended by SG-1. The SG team succeeds in defending Skaara and the Goa'uld symbiote is separated from his body. It is unknown what happens to Klorel afterwards but Skaara returned to Abydos. ("
Pretense ")
Skaara again meets SG-1 over three years later, when they are contacted by an ascended Daniel Jackson, who tells them that
Anubis is on his way to Abydos to search for the Eye of Ra. Skaara helps them search for the Eye and also defends them from Anubis'
Jaffa , but he is critically wounded during the firefight. When it appears that he would die, he is ascended by
Oma Desala . He finally reappears before SG-1 after Anubis attacked Abydos and tells them that not only he but also the rest of the population of Abydos were ascended by Oma. ("
