The member teams are from different schools around Metro Manila with UAAP powerhouses De La Salle University , Far Eastern University , NCAA powerhouse San Sebastian College - Recoletos , WNCAA powerhouse Lyceum Of The Philippines University The UST Tigresses won the first-ever V-League championship in 2004 defeating the Lady Archers. But the La Salle-Taft volleybelles have won the last two conferences of the said league defeating their arch-rivals, sweeping them in the Finals of both conferences. This year, each member teams are allowed to acquire three reinforcements to bolster their lineup in which they can allow either a former member of a school's volleyball lineup or anyone outside of it. Elimination Games will be held at the Blue Eagle Gym while Semi-Finals and Finals will be in Rizal Memorial Coliseum. ABC 5 has signed up as the TV coveror for this tournament.
