Information About

Seagulls Stadium

The Seagulls Leagues Club purchased the short-lived Gold Coast franchise in 1989 and went on to rename the team Gold Coast Seagulls in 1990. They continued to play out of Seagulls Stadium on Gollan Drive in West Tweed Heads . However financial problems saw the club sell Seagulls Stadium, and it was developed into housing.

Local millionaire businessman Jeff Muller stepped in to take over the license, moving the team to Carrara Stadium and changing their name to the Gladiators.

Before long the Australian Rugby League purchased the franchise off Muller and rebadged the Gold Coast team the Chargers .
