Bellevue Palace (German: ''Schloss Bellevue'') is a château north of the Tiergarten park in Berlin . It is the residence of the German President , currently Horst Köhler . Bellevue Palace underwent reconstruction until end of 2005 ; the president used Schloss Charlottenburg for representative purposes during this period. It became his primary residence again at the start of 2006 .

It was erected by Prince Ferdinand Of Prussia , the younger brother of King Friedrich II Of Prussia , in 1786 .
