Information About

Schiphol (railway Station)

The ''Utrechtboog'' is a new connection that opened on March 12th, 2006. It is a fly-over onnecting two existing lines located between the stations Amsterdam-RAI and Bijlmer . The new train services do not stop at these two stations, but provide a connection from Schiphol and Amsterdam Zuid WTC at the Zuidas area (the southern axis of Amsterdam) directly with Utrecht , and on to Eindhoven . It surpasses the crossing at Duivendrecht , making it unnecessary to change trains as well as providing a faster connection.

The hourly night train connects Schiphol with Amsterdam , Utrecht , Rotterdam , Leiden and The Hague in the early hours.

Thalys International operates a TGV rail service between Amsterdam, Schiphol, The Hague HS, Rotterdam , Berchem Rail Station ( Antwerp ), Midi Rail Station ( Brussels ) and Gare Du Nord in Paris . It is high speed between Brussels and Paris.

Schiphol is a stop on the HSL-Zuid , operational from 2007.

Schiphol Plaza is the Shopping Center before customs, hence not only for air travellers, but also for people who just change train here, etc. There is a medium-size Supermarket , Food Village, that is open until midnight seven days a week.
