PLOT


Right after he finds out he is an orphan, Rémi gets sold by his adoptive parents at the age of 8 to streetmusician Vitalis. The two travel through France, making a living by performing with Vitalis' three dogs and his monkey, Joli-Coeur. Vitalis becomes Rémi's mentor, friend and father-figure.

However, Vitalis dies, and Rémi is left to his own devices. He uses the opportunity to find his real parents.
