King Edward VII began the tradition of Sandringham Time, which was half an hour earlier than Greenwich Mean Time to allow more time for shooting. Sandringham Time ended in 1936.

The civil parish has an area of 41.91 square Kilometres and in 2001 had a population of 402 in 176 households. For the purposes of local government, the parish falls within the District of King's Lynn And West Norfolk .
