Loomis was a psychiatrist in the Smith's Grove clinic. In 1963 , he received a six-year-old patient, Michael Myers , who had murdered his sister. He spent years trying to reach the boy, who was seemingly Catatonic , but eventually gave up hope and tried merely to keep him locked up. Unbeknownst to Loomis, Myers was cursed by the Curse of Thorn and was determined kill his entire family. Before learning this, however, Loomis was convinced that Michael was a Psychopath . On October 30 , 1978 , Myers escaped from the clinic and hijacked a car. He went to Haddonfield to stalk Laurie Strode and her friends. The following day, he killed her friends and tried to kill Laurie when Loomis arrived and shot Michael six times. However, Myers apparently survived, probably due to some ancient Druidic power that his grandmother passed on to him that made him practically invincinble. Myers then headed to the hospital to kill Laurie, leaving several bodies in his wake. Dr. Loomis was ordered to leave Haddonfield so as to not create panic. However, he hijacked the police car using his gun and arrived at the hospital to stop Myers. Loomis and Myers fought each other in the basement until Myers won, wounding his former doctor. However, Loomis recovered, and he and Laurie filled the room with oxygen. Strode then ran away and Loomis blew up with Myers. Suprizingly, Loomis survived, but was horribly burned, sustaining permanent damage to his leg. In 1980 , Laurie and Jimmy Lloyd had a daughter named Jamie . Shortly afterwards, it was thought the couple died in a car crash. On October 31 , 1988 , Myers, who had been in a Coma , awoke in an ambulance when he heard that he had a Niece . He then went back to Haddonfield, and Loomis once again persued him. He went to the police, but they didn't believe him and thought that he had gone insane. However, Myers started to Stalk Jamie Lloyd and her surrogate sister Rachel Carruthers and kill off their friends. A mob of residents formed to kill Myers, and they saved Jamie and Rachel. Myers killed off the mob riding in the truck, but was hit by Rachel. The police then arrived with Loomis and shot him, sending him falling into a Mine . The police then threw a dynomite to finish him off. Loomis saw Jamie kill her surrogate mother and tried to kill her but then realized she could actually control her Wrath and wanted to use her to find her uncle while she was in a psychiatric clinic for children. The following year, Myers, who had once again been in a coma despite having escaped the explosion, awoke at a hut and killed the owner, who had taken care of him. He then headed to Haddonfield to kill off his niece Jamie, first srtalking and killing Jamie. He then went on to kill her friends. Jamie tried to save Tina but failed. Loomis then arrived at the scene and proposed a deal to Myers: to go to his house and be presented with Jamie Lloyd. Myers went to his house and met Loomis who calmed him, but when Loomis reached to take away Myers' knife, he seriously wounded him. When Loomis awoke, he caught Myers in a net and beat him up. Myers was put in jail, but then freed by a Man In Black from his Druidic cult.The man in black also kidnapped Jamie Lloyd the same night. Dr Loomis suffered a heart atack shortly after these events.After that he retitired and moved to a quiet hut on the outscurts of Haddonfield.There he lived a solitary,almost hermit lifestile,choosing not to interact with other people. However,in 1995 the nightmare started all over again.It was a cold and stormy night when someone knocked on Sam`s door.It was Dr.Terrence Wynn,his old collegue,who had come to persuade Loomis to return to Smith`s grove.Sam declined.While the two were arguing about that they heard the voice of Jamie Lloyd on the radio.She was begging Dr. Loomis to help her. It turns out that Jamie was inpreganted by the same cult that kidnapped her in 1989.However,she suceeded in escaping after giving birth to a baby boy.She took the child with her,and stopped at a bus station to call Dr. Loomis.However,Michael tracked her down and killed her.But,he could not find baby Steven. Jamie had left Steven in the bus stop bathroom.There he was found by Tommy Doyle,the boy who Laurie Strode was babisiting in 1978.Tommy had become a deranged adult bent in destroying Michael Myers. The following morning Jamie`s body was discovered,and Loomis was devestated.He had thought that the last of Michael`s bloodline was killed that night.But after being approached by Tommy Doyle who told him about his discovery of baby Steven,Loomis knew he had to fight his nemesis one last time in order to save the infant. During the following day it is revealed that Dr Terrence Wynn,Sam`s old collegue is actually the Man in black.After that discovery Loomis goes after Wynn,while Tommy Doyle joins forces with Kara Strode,a young woman whose family has taken residence in the Myers home,in order to protect baby Steven from Michael.They appearantly succeed,after a bloody battle in Smith`s grove sanatorium. After "stopping" Michael and Wynn at the end of the movie,Tommy and Kara start their car and as they are about to leave,Loomis informs them that he has to stay behind,because "he has some business to attend to",back in the sanatorium.And as they leave, a loud scream can be heard from the building in which Myers and Loomis were last seen in,suggesting that Myers had finally killed his doctor. However,the film was supposed to end with Dr.Sam Loomis returning to the interior of the Sanatorium only to find an injured,dying Wynn, who passes on the burdain of looking after Michael to Loomis.The Thorn simbol was supposed to appear on his wrist,which causes him to scream. Sadly, Donald Pleasence died shortly after the filming of this movie had ended, thus eliminating the possibility of a new Thorn based sequel. In the timeline established by Halloween H20, the events of movies 4,5 and 6 were ignored,and the characters from these movies were erased.Although this change did not erase the Loomis character completely,it did cut more than half of his screen time limiting his appearences only to the first and second film.The Loomis from this timeline died of natural causes,while being under the care of nurse Marion Chambers, his assistant from the first two films. |
