Salvador started his career in 2002 with a 2nd place in the Skip Barber National and winning the Midwestern Champion trophy. In 2003 he finished 8th in Italian Formula Renault and 15th in the Eurocup Formula Renault. In 2004 he drove in the British F3 National Class with P1 Motorsport and in 2005 he drove in the British Formula 3 International Series with P1 Motorsport. Duran had 8 pole positions in the National Class, at Spa-Francorchamps , Knockhill, Castle Combe , 2 at Silverstone and at the Nurburgring and his last pole came at Mondello Park in Ireland . Duran also had 9 wins and 14 podiums en route to becoming champion, scoring 300 points over the twenty-two rounds, beating second-placed Barton Mawer by 44 points.
