English Cricket er. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler.
He is the cousin of the boxer
Amir Khan .
Mahmood made his way through the Bolton Leagues, and joined
Lancashire in
2002 . Despite having only six first-class wickets to his name, in
2003 -
04 he was chosen for England A's tour to
India and
Malaysia .
He won the
NBC Denis Compton Award in 2003 and in the same year, rendered
Lancashire CCC team-mate
Andrew Flintoff and England A team-mate
Alex Gidman out of action with broken hands thanks to his bowling.
Saj made a disappointing debut for
England against
New Zealand at
Bristol in
July 2004 going for more than eight an over off his seven overs.
More recently, he toured India with England in March / April 2006 playing in three One Day International matches towards the end of the tour.
