A310-300 , said Junaid Makhdomi, chief executive of the Karachi-based airline in a Jan. 18 interview, without giving details. The carrier, which stopped operations in 2000 due to losses, are now backed by investors in U.K. and Pakistan, Makhdomi said.
Safe International plans to start services to Pakistan's biggest cities such as
Karachi ,
Lahore ,
Peshawar and
Islamabad , he said. In 2007, the airline plans to begin flights overseas including
Oslo and
Copenhagen in
Europe and
Bangkok ,
Kuala Lumpur and
Manila in
Southeast Asia , Makhdomi said.
On
February 19,
2006 , the new management of inked a deal to acquire four 737-200 aircraft worth $18 million. "The airline will acquire these aircraft on dry lease with a purchase option," Shahid Ali Khan, Chief Executive Officer of the airline told The News. "The airline plans to increase its fleet size to 15 aircraft by the end of current year," he said. The airline struck the deal with

South Africa during the last week in Johannesburg.
