Sacred Beast Cards

In the , Slifer The Sky Dragon and The Winged Dragon Of Ra .

The three Demons are:

  • Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder (Descending Thunder Emperor Hamon)

  • (降雷皇ハモン ''Koūraioū Hamon'')

  • Uria, Lord of Searing Flames (Divine Flame Emperor Uria)

  • (神炎皇ウリア ''Shinenoū Uria'')

  • Raviel, Lord of Phantasms (Phantom Emperor Raviel)

  • (幻魔皇ラビエル ''Genmaoū Rabieru'')

According to the legend, these three cards were sealed under Duel Academy for along time behind the Seven Star Gate which requires seven keys to open. If the Demons are released to the ground, chaos will cover the world, destroying everything.

A group known as the Shadow Riders seek to gain the keys and open the gate. However, there is a form of protection lain on the keys that they may only be taken if the one protecting the key is defeated (the keys are given to Jaden Yuki , Alexis Rhodes , Chazz Princeton , Bastion Misawa , Zane Truesdale , Vellian Crowler , and Lyman Banner ). Even when these keys were stolen and placed in the gate, it wouldn't open until the one wishing to open it was victorious in a duel.

ANIME/MANGA APPEARANCES

The Sacred Beast Cards are only used once throughout the series by Kagemaru, the chairman of Duel Academy who originally placed the cards there. He plans to gain eternal life from the cards, and with Jaden's ability to talk to spirits, he will be able to use the Sacred Beasts to take the spirits of Duel Monsters and transfer them to himself, making himself immortal. Although Zane Truesdale , Chazz Princeton , Alexis Rhodes , and Bastion Misawa challenge Kagemaru, he instead challenges Jaden, who has the greatest dueling spirit and also has the ability to talk to spirits.

In his first move, Jaden summons ''Elemental Hero Burstinatrix'' in defense mode and ends. Kagemaru declares he is setting three Trap Cards, something that puzzles the other characters, as it is not necessary to declare the type of card you set. However, Kagemaru reveals that he needs to sacrifice three Trap Cards to play ''Uria, Lord of Searing Flames''. Uria then gains 3000 attack points, equivalent to the number of Trap Cards in the Graveyard and it incinerates Burstinatrix. Jaden then fuses ''Elemental Hero Avian'', ''Elemental Hero Bubbleman'', and ''Elemental Hero Sparkman'' to play ''Elemental Hero Tempest'' and ends up destroying Uria two times due to its ability to revive from the Graveyard. Ultimately, Uria's attack points rise to 5000 and it begins devastating Jaden's field. Kagemaru then declares he is setting three Spell Cards, and sacrifices them to play ''Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder''. Hamon then attacks Jaden's monster and inflicts 1000 points to damage to his Life Points, thanks to one of Hamon's special abilities. Jaden is forced into the defensive at this point, playing ''Wroughtweiler'' in defense mode and being subjugated to another blast from Hamon, weakening him by 1000 more points. However, his timely activation of ''Kuriboh Calling Flute'' summons Winged Kuriboh to protect his Life Points. Jaden then manages to destroy Hamon by using ''Metamorphosis'' combined with ''Elemental Hero Bubbleman'' to play ''Elemental Hero Neo Bubbleman'', whose special ability allows it to destroy any monster it battles with. Jaden then equips it with ''Bubble Blaster'', enchancing its attack power and granting it one-time immunity from being destroyed in battle. After Hamon is destroyed, Kagemaru assaults with Uria, in which Jaden activates ''Hero's Rule 1 Five Freedoms'' which allows him to remove up to five of the same cards from Kagemaru's Graveyard, and he removes the five traps that are powering Uria, turning its attack points to 0 and causing it to be destroyed. However, Kagemaru plays ''Sacrifice of Revival'', which revives Hamon and destroys Jaden's Elemental Hero Neo Bubbleman. Furthermore, he discards a Trap Card to revive Uria. To set the stage for his next Sacred Beast, Kagemaru plays ''Phantasmal Martyrs'', which forces him to discard two cards (one of them a Trap Card that gives Uria 1000 more attack points) and summon three ''Phantasm Tokens''. He then sacrifices them to play ''Raviel, Lord of Phantasms'', the strongest of the three Sacred Beasts. As Jaden's turn comes, he plays ''Dark Factory of Mass Production'' to retrieve monsters from his Graveyard and then summons ''Elemental Hero Flame Wingman'' via ''Polymerization''. He then uses the card he gained when he defeated Lyman Banner , the last of the Shadow Riders, ''Philosopher's Stone - Sabatier'' (an obvious reference to the Philosopher's Stone ), in which he can make three wishes at the cost of half of his Life Points. These wishes allow him to retrieve cards from his Graveyard or his Deck apparently. Jaden eventually summons ''Elemental Hero Shining Flare Wingman'', and with the gigantic number of Elemental Hero monsters in the Graveyard, Elemental Hero Shining Flare Wingman's attack points rose to 4600. Shining Flare Wingman then destroys Hamon but Kagemaru survives due to Hamon's ability to protect the player if it is in defense mode when it is destroyed from any damage. During this time, Raviel's special ability has summoned two ''Phantasm Tokens'' to the field. This is due to Raviel's effect that activates when the opponent (in this case, Jaden) summons a monster. Kagemaru then sacrifices them to increase its attack points to 6000, but Jaden de-fuses his Shining Flare Wingman to create enough shields to survive the incoming assault. Jaden then makes his final wish with Philosopher's Stone - Sabatier and draws ''Miracle Fusion'', from which he now creates ''Elemental Hero Electrum'' from the fusion of ''Elemental Hero Avian'', ''Elemental Hero Burstinatrix'', ''Elemental Hero Bubbleman'', and ''Elemental Hero Clayman''. After three wishes have been made using Philosopher's Stone - Sabatier, it acts as an Equip Spell Card that increases the monster's attack points times the number of monsters on the opponent's field. Therefore, Elixier's attack points become 14500 and Jaden uses it to slice Raviel vertically in two, winning him the duel.
